Spooky season is upon us again, and before things get too scary at your property, there may be a few things that you want to do to prepare yourself for Halloween. First of all, if you are going to be allowing trick-or-treating at your property or if there are other events, make sure to advise your resident of when and where those events will be held. Next, have your maintenance team go out and check the property, including all walkways and common areas that are going to have trick or treaters or other events on them to make sure that there are no hazards present on the property and that all walkways are clear and safe. You may have some residents who don't want to participate in handing out candy or being a part of events. So encourage them to turn their lights off while trick-or-treaters are on the property to let them know that. This is not a place for them to visit. One more thing to keep in mind is that law enforcement agencies have consistently reported that crimes like burglary, vandalism, and mischief do increase around the Halloween holiday. So encourage your residents to keep doors locked, keep an eye out, and report any concerns that they see on the property. That's gonna do it. We hope that everybody has a safe and happy Halloween, and we will see you on the next Tuesday tip.
