Posted On: March 12, 2020

As the spread of this virus continues, it is important to know what is going on and how to prepare for it. HUD is relaying and constantly updating the information and resources given by the CDC on how to prepare for the spread of COVID-19, commonly known as the “Coronavirus.” See the resource page here: hud.gov/coronavirus

In the resource page, HUD encourages that everyone should continue promoting everyday disease prevention strategies:

  • If you are sick, stay home from work or school.
  • Avoid close contact with those who are already sick.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or the crook of your arm.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth.

HUD has included helpful fact sheets from the CDC on the virus that housing authorities, landlords, non-profits, and shelters can share with their residents, staff, friends, and families that provide steps they can take to help protect themselves:
