Encourage Your Residents to Apply for the NAHMA Scholarship with Our Scripted Email Template

As you know, the NAHMA Educational Foundation scholarship season is now open, and it’s an excellent opportunity for low-income residents to receive financial assistance to pursue their education and career goals. As a property manager, you can help your residents take advantage of this opportunity by encouraging them to apply for the scholarship.

We’ve created a scripted email template for our property managers in Alabama, Connecticut, Mississippi, and Virginia to make it easier. You can send it to your residents. This email outlines the scholarship benefits, eligibility requirements, and the application process. Plus, we’ve added a bit of friendly competition to make things interesting in these four states. Simply copy and paste the email below.

Subject: Apply for the NAHMA Scholarship and Win Big!

Dear Residents,

We are excited to announce that the 2023 NAHMA Educational Foundation scholarship season is now open! This is a fantastic opportunity for you to receive financial assistance to help you pursue your education and career goals.

In 2022, the foundation awarded 96 scholarships worth $3,500 each. That's a total of $336,000 in scholarship money awarded to deserving student residents just like you! Residents and both Connecticut and Virginia have won in the past; however, we have noticed that very few residents in Alabama and Mississippi specifically have applied for this scholarship in recent years. We want to change that, and we need your help to do it!

Your application can also help our community. The property in our state with the most completed applications will win a gift card worth $100! Second place will win a gift card worth $75. All you have to do is complete the application and help your community win!

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a resident in good standing at an AHMA- or NAHMA-member multifamily community and be either a high school senior with a minimum GPA of 2.5; or a high school equivalency diploma holder or matriculated college student with a minimum GPA of 2.3 at an accredited community college, college, university, or trade/technical school. Residents of any age can apply!

The required application components include an application form, one reference, an essay, and a certification of residency in good standing form. Additionally, an official grade transcript showing courses taken and grades awarded through the fall semester of the 2022/2023 school year is also required, and it is the only component submitted to the foundation via mail. All necessary forms are provided within the web-based software.

The application can be accessed online at https://nahma.communityforce.com. The deadline for completed applications is 10 p.m. Eastern on May 12, so don't wait to apply!
