First HOTMA Deadline of 2024 Nears

Posted On: April 30, 2024

Owners and agents across the nation are busy working to meet the first HOTMA deadline of the year. As the deadline nears, Corporate Trainer Vickie Bell offers for some food for thought as implementation continues.

Tenant Selection Plans and EIV Policies must be updated by May 31, 2024. After that date, those who fail to meet the updates will no longer be compliant. There are many additional forms and documents that must also be updated. Those who use the streamline method on property must update the streamlining letter. Vickie also suggests owners and agents update student questionnaires and all other verification forms by the first HOTMA deadline of 2024.

First HOTMA deadline required by HUD

HUD says all termination documents including termination of assistance letters must be revised. Owners and agents must also determine how many days will fulfill the requirement for changes. Vickie suggests owners and agents make sure House Rules for the property are in line with the discretionary policy on property. Applications and rejection letters will likely also need some updates. Finally, Navigate Affordable Housing Partners encourages owners and agents to visit our resource center as they work through HOTMA compliance.
